I am a true believer that failure can be a good thing – a needed thing. It is one of the the things that connects us all. No one is perfect – and in that imperfection we can learn compassion. We can also getting a little closer to understanding that its not about the success or the failure – its all about the learnings for both!
Today’s inspiration is all about getting those failures out into the open and having an honest dialogue about them. Johannes Haushofer, who has a PhD from Harvard and teaches at Princeton recently gained a lot of press for creating a resume of all the failures in his career (see snapshot). This. Is. Genius. To make it even better – he did it with the intention of making a friend feel better about his failure. Because of his bold move – others started posting lists of their failures, too. I applaud Johannes for putting his imperfection on display with such compassionate intentions.
What are some of the things you view as failures? Make an effort to change the lens in which you view them. Focus on what you learned and how they’ve crafted the person you are today.
