Today’s inspiration features one of the most creative stores I’ve ever been in – Serendipity in Hudson, MA. Everyone has different “go to” places when they’re running low on inspiration. And this is one of mine!
Lori Burton walked away from her career as a teacher to open this amazing store in 2005 and it has grown to be an staple in the downtown. The walls are filled with the work of artists across all different mediums. Lori also runs a “Camp Bling” where kids can make jewelry. The store’s motto is “”jewelry, art and whimsy” and boy does it live up to it!
As if the store isn’t interesting enough – the owner is by far one of the most welcoming and community minded individuals I’ve ever come across.
She may not remember this – but when I first came to town almost 10 years ago – I wandered into her shop. Moving from the city to the suburbs was a culture shock so finding her store was a blessing for me. Lori spoke to me for almost 30 minutes about my new community. I left her store feeling not only like I could get involved but like I had found a cool place to live. To this day – I love chatting with her. She is always willing to help and truly cares about those around her.
